Cleaning your fabric sofa is easier than you think

The basic maintenance can be divided as follows: 

Vacuum weekly with a clean furniture attachment. Maximum 500 watts. That is better for the fibres. This removes dust and sand from the fabric, which reduces wear. In between, you can dust with, for example, the LCK® cleaning glove. 

Twice a year: 

 Especially the contact parts. So the seats, the armrests and the back cushions. Use a wet* LCK® cleaning glove. Treat stains with Puratex® strong cleaner or the Puratex® synthetic cleaner. You can find exactly which fabric these two cleaners are suitable for with the products themselves. 

The very big cleaning: 

If you want to thoroughly clean a piece of furniture, use a spray extraction device. These can be rented at the hardware store. Make sure you get a furniture attachment. And be careful, do not use carpet cleaners and do not put cleaners in the clean water reservoir. That is for carpet. With furniture, apply the cleaner directly to the fabric. Let it work for a while and rinse several times with distilled water that you fill in the clean water tank. 

When you work with spray extraction, you can use even stronger cleaners. Feel free to ask our customer service for advice. 

Help! Stains: 

Most stains can still be cleaned well, until you panic and do exactly the wrong thing. The internet is full of well-intentioned advice. Sometimes it will help, but often it goes wrong. Furniture fabric is different from a piece of clothing. And sometimes that difference is not clearly recognizable. White wine on red wine? Instead of tackling the stain adequately, you will contaminate the fabric even more. 

It is best not to use home remedies such as baking soda or shampoo. In combination with, for example, greasy dirt, this can lead to irreparable damage.
